Declaring that no one is opposing the cleaning up and beautification of the Musi River, Telangana BJP President and Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy said that cleaning the Musi is not possible without solving drainage problems.
He said that the Musi should be cleaned and beautified by constructing retaining walls on both sides of the river.
Addressing the media on Friday, Kishan said that 30 per cent of Telangana’s population is now in Hyderabad city and that the BJP is demanding that the Congress government should not demolish the houses of the poor who had constructed houses 30 years ago.
He inaugurated the sewerage line at the Andhra Café X Road in Gandhi Nagar division along with MLA Muta Gopal. Later, he asked the government to clean up and beautify the Musi River and added that he has no objections to building a house by the side of the Musi for the Chief Minister.
“It is not justified for the Congress government to say that it will give Rs 25,000 and vacate houses and that it will construct double-bedroom houses after demolishing the houses of the poor who had constructed houses with their hard-earned money. Musi beautification can be done without troubling people,” Kishan said.
