Non-duty paid liquor worth Rs 1.83 crore worth destroyed

Excise police of Rangareddy destroyed Rs 1.83 crore of 10,222 litres of non-duty paid liquor on Saturday. These bottles were seized in 686 cases. The officials seized liquor which was transported from Goa, Haryana, Delhi and other States without paying excise duty to Telangana.
The liquor smuggled into the State by  buses, aircrafts and vehicles.
On Saturday, the officials released a press release, where it mentioned that in the presence of Rangaredy Deputy Commissioner Dasarath, the Shamsahabad Excise Police destroyed these liquor bottles by using rollers in Shamshabad Excise Police limits.
Deputy Commissioner Dasharath said that the value of the liquor could be Rs 1,83,42,763, which is pertaining to the 686 cases. Some of the people bought the liquor at low prices in other states and tried to take them with us to Telangana. The reason could be to sell for profits or use it, But they should take permission to bring liquor from one state to another state.
The excise officials said that the police would file criminal cases against those who
brought liquor without permission from one state to another state.  Along with the
Deputy Commissioner, Excise Superintendent Krishna Priya, Assistant Superintendent Srinivasa Reddy, Shamshabad SHO Gandra Devendar Rao and SIs head constables and constables were there while liquor was destroyed by using rollers.
