Former minister and Suryapet MLA G Jagadish Reddy demanded that the government fulfil its promise to waive farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh for all farmers. A section of farmers are yet to get the loan waiver benefit, he said.
Addressing a press conference at the MLA camp office in Suryapet on Sunday, Jagadish Reddy demanded a clarity on what the government intended to do in the matter of farm loan waiver There is confusion over the matter. Cabinet Ministers are not able to give answers. The Chief Minister has been making different statement day after day.
He said that Rs 26,000 crore has been allocated in the budget and Rs 18,000 crore has been released so far.
He said that the farmers in the State are being harassed. He said that the government which made false promises to farmers ahead of the elections is now trying to cheat them again. He said that this government should take a clear stand on the issue of loan waiver, give clarity to farmers.
