Notification for MLC election will be issued on Feb’ 3: Collector

District Collector K Vetri Selvi has announced that the notification for the Legislative Council graduates constituency election will be issued on February 3 and the election will be held on February 27.
Informing the election scheduled to the media here on Wednesday, the Collector and Returning Officer for the Graduate MLC Elections of the combined West Godavari and East Godavari Districts, said that the notification for the Graduate MLC elections of the joint West and East Godavari districts would be issued on February 3rd and nominations would be accepted till February 10th.
The Collector stated that the Central Election Commission released the schedule for the conduct of the Graduate MLC elections in the joint West and East Godavari districts. Collector Vetri Selvi informed that the scrutiny of nominations would be held on February 11 and nominations can be withdrawn by the 13th.
“MLC graduate constituency the elections will be held on February 27 from 8 am to 4 pm, the counting of votes will be held on March 3 and the election process will end on March 8,” she made it clear.
The Collector explained that the elections would be held in the districts of Eluru, West Godavari, East Godavari, Alluri Seetharamaraju, Konaseema and Kakinada under the jurisdiction of West and East Godavari districts. The Eluru District Collector will act as the Returning Officer and the election process from the receipt of nominations to the counting of votes will be held in Eluru.
“The Election Code has come into effect in the joint West and East Godavari districts from January 29. As many as 440 polling stations will be set up to conduct the election,” Vetri Selive noted. She mentioned that 3,15,261 graduates have been registered as voters, out of which 1,83, 734 are men, 1,31,507 are women and 20 are third gender voters.
