NTR District Collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha has instructed nodal officers to prioritise the quality of grievance resolution through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) introduced by the state government. He emphasised that once grievances are addressed, they should not be reopened.
On Monday, Dr. Lakshmisha, along with other officials, participated in the PGRS programme held at the Collectorate Meeting Hall. He first inspected the reception, information counters, registration desk, help desk, and Aadhaar centres related to the programme. Later, the Collector, along with District Revenue Officer M. Lakshminarasimham, DRDA PD K. Srinivas Rao, Special Officer for Village and Ward Secretariats P. Jyothi, and other officials, received grievances from the public.
A total of 85 grievances were submitted during the programme, including 42 related to revenue, 8 to municipal and urban development, and 7 to the police department. Other grievances were submitted for departments such as APCPDCL, DRDA, and the cooperative sector (four each), Panchayat Raj, education, and registration and stamps (two each), along with other departments like social welfare, BC welfare, civil supplies, skill development, health, housing, roads, and rural water supply (one each). The Collector instructed officials to thoroughly examine each grievance and ensure that the issues are resolved to the applicants’ satisfaction.
Dr. Lakshmisha also visited the Vermi Compost sale centre set up by the district Panchayat Office in connection with the PGRS programme. He observed the sales of vermicompost produced at the Waste-to-Wealth Centre in Gunturpalli village panchayat, Ibrahimpatnam mandal. The compost, priced at Rs 20 per kilogram, is available in packet sizes of 500g, 1kg, and 2kg.
The Collector praised the vermicompost for its significant benefits in promoting fast and healthy plant growth. He highlighted that the district is focusing on solid and liquid waste management, with the waste-to-wealth centres operating successfully. The programme also saw the participation of DPO P. Lavanya Kumari and other officials.
