Two arrested, 9.5 kg ganja and three two-wheelers seized

The Task Force and Law & Order police of the NTR District Police Commissionerate successfully busted a ganja racket, arresting two individuals involved in the illegal sale of narcotics. In a joint operation, the police seized 9.5 kg of ganja valued at Rs.60,000 and recovered three stolen two-wheelers from the possession of the accused.
Authorities have reported that a gang has been actively selling ganja in the city using stolen vehicles to facilitate their illegal operations. An ongoing investigation aims to trace the source of the marijuana and identify other members involved in the network. The Commissionerate has reiterated its commitment to combating drug-related activities throughout the district.
On Saturday, Task Force ACP K Latha Kumari, along with Inspectors Sridhar Kumar and Ravi Kumar, presented the two accused before the media at the Commissionerate in Vijayawada. The accused were identified as: Anaparthi Manoj Pardhu, a resident of Gulabi Thota, Vijayawada, and Shaik Alibaba alias Ali, a resident of Vanukuru, Penamaluru mandal.
Addressing the media, ACP Latha Kumari explained that the two were stealing two-wheelers and selling them on the Andhra-Odisha border. They used the proceeds to illegally purchase ganja, which they brought into the city to sell to targeted youth. She added that acting on the directions of Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu, the Task Force and Law & Order teams are actively working to prevent the spread of illegal narcotics within the city.
