Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Vishweshwar Reddy congratulated the management of the Mahila Dakshata Educational Institutions and the graduated nursing students. He emphasised that nursing is not just a profession; it is a calling. It requires compassion, empathy, and a deep sense of responsibility. “You are entering a field that is at the very heart of healthcare, where you will have the power to make a profound difference in the lives of those you serve. In the words of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, ‘Nursing is an art: and if it is to be made an art, it requires an exclusive devotion as hard a preparation, as any painter’s or sculptor’s work.'”
He further encouraged the graduates by stating, “As professional nurses, remember that you are not just caregivers but also advocates, educators, and leaders. Your role extends beyond the bedside; you will be the voices for your patients, the hands that heal, and the hearts that comfort.
You will face challenges, witness suffering, and at times, experience heartbreak. But through it all, you will also witness the resilience of the human spirit, the joy of recovery, and the gratitude of those you help. Graduates, as you don your caps and gowns today, remember that this is just the beginning. The world needs your skills, your compassion, and your dedication now more than ever.
Embrace the challenges, continue to learn, and strive for excellence in all that you do.”
