Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) Commissioner HM Dhyanachandra has instructed officials to take immediate action to conduct desilting operations in the side drains to ensure the free flow of drainage water.
During his visit to Polyclinic Road, Mother Teresa Junction, and other areas in Mogalrajapuram on Sunday, the Commissioner observed that many drains were filled with silt, causing drainage blockages and inconvenience to local residents.
Dhyanachandra directed the officials concerned to remove the accumulated silt and ensure that the drainage water flows freely without any obstructions.
He also emphasised the importance of maintaining proper sanitation across the city by desilting all major and minor drains regularly. He urged officials to promptly address any obstacles found in the drainage system.
VMC Executive Engineer Samrajyam and other officials accompanied Commissioner Dhyanachandra during the inspection.
