Officials asked to have full understanding of ECI guidelines

District Collector Pravin KumarDistrict Collector Pravin Kumar has directed the nodal officials, EROs and Assistant Returning officers to have a full understanding of their election responsibilities and guidelines of the Election Commissioner of India.
The Collector held a meeting with the officials here on Friday and reviewed the arrangements being made to conduct elections. Speaking on the occasion, he said that every nodal officer should be fully aware of the issues related to their duties and should complete the election duties on time as per the guidelines of the Election Commission vigilantly.
Stating that he has experience working in four elections, he told them that all should work as per the direction of ECI. “Man Power Nodal Officer, Training Nodal Officer, Material, Transport, Cyber Security, SVEEP, Law and Order, EVM, Model Code of Conduct, Expenditure, Ballot Papers, Postal Ballot, Media, Communication Plan, Electoral Rolls, Voter Help Line, Observers, Media and Saksham Nodal Officers should coordinate from time to time and be vigilant in the management of election duties.
The Collector ordered the officials to work as per the Election Commission’s guidelines and handbook. He said that the election observers would come to the district soon, preparations should be made on issues such as electoral roll supply, ballot printing, vehicles procurement plan, strong rooms should be prepared and arrangements should be made according to the security standards, and observers protocol officers should perform their duties.
SVEEP programme should be widely undertaken where the voter turnout in the last general elections 2019 was low, the Collector instructed the SVEEP nodal officer. The Collector advised the Returning Officers to make arrangements for the monitoring of newspapers, electronic media and social media in their offices and take steps to conduct transparent elections.
He also stated the basic principles of proper planning, training and implementation of election guidelines for efficient conduct of elections. EROs Dhyan Chand, Aditi Singh, Nishat Reddy and Narasimhulu were among those who were present.
