District Collector P Prashanthi has said that awareness should be created among students on the degree courses from the Intermediate level itself so that they could choose the right courses.
The Collector here on Tuesday held a meeting with the government college principals and reviewed the various issues including contract lecturer’s transfers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector discussed the educational system of the colleges. The students should be made aware from the intermediate level about the benefits of studying any courses after completion of intermediate education.
She felt that there is a need for lecturers who are trained as teachers to elaborate the curriculum up to the intermediate level. The Collector said that only if proper direction is given at the student stage itself, the students would be able to excel in the future and that responsibility is on the faculty.
Collector Prashanthi ordered that among the 26 contract lecturers working in various degree colleges in the district, those who have completed five years of service in the same college must be transferred as per the rules.
