District Collector AS Dinesh Kumar directed the officials who are preparing the voters list to carefully delete the names of deceased voters and include new voters.

The Collector on Wednesday along with RDO Visweswar Rao and Tahsildar Murali inspected the voter’s list preparation process being carried out at Throvagunta polling centre.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that about 3,000 voters died in Naguluppalapadu mandal and their names should not be removed from the voter’s list without the death certificate.

The Collector made it clear that the BLOs should take steps to remove their names based on the testimony of the family members, the testimony of the local people and the details available in the panchayat. The Collector directed the officials to issue notice to the family members for this.

Similarly, the votes of girls who got married and moved to other places should be transferred to the respective polling centers where they are currently staying and the names of girls who came here after marriage should be transferred from the villages to where they are staying with husbands and family members now.

The Collector asked people to cooperate in this matter. He said that when BLOs conduct house to house surveys, BLAs of political parties should also accompany them. The Collector said that steps are being taken to make the electoral roll revision process transparent. He also appealed to the political parties to cooperate in this matter.

The Collector advised people to register as voters in the new village where they are currently living, instead of the old one. A house-to-house survey is being conducted so that all the eligible people in each house within the polling center are included in the voter list.
