Minister for Revenue Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has called upon the district officials to take steps for speedy completion of the development works initiated by the government for the benefit of the people.
He took part in a series of foundation stone laying ceremonies of cement concrete road development works with TUFIDC funds of Rs 1.95 crore in Kondayagudem of the first division and with Rs 2 crore in the 59 division of the city. Addressing the gathering, he said that the state government has been working on a war-footing for the development and welfare of the people. As part of the development process, development of 12 cement concrete roads in the city at a cost of Rs 2 crore was taken up.
In the early days of the Congress government, some road and drain development works have been initiated at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore and these have reached the final phase. Funds have been released for construction of an electric crematorium and tenders have been called. The works are going to be completed soon. Besides these, a link road would be developed from KR Function hall to the school.
He directed the contractors to complete the CC Roads, for which he had laid the foundation stone on Tuesday, within two months with full quality.
He said that the encroached government lands would be freed from the clutches of land grabbers and distributed to the eligible poor. He asked the Revenue Divisional Officer to take back the endowment lands and revenue lands from land grabbers.
Later, he visited the Munneru flood-hit colonies of Jalagam Nagar, Rajiv Gruhakalya, Vikalangula Colony and Karunagiri on a motorcycle. He interacted with the victims there to find out their problems. He assured the Munneru Flood victims of government’s support and pay compensation to all affected families. The government also pays compensation for the loss of property and cattle too.
