Special Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office Smita Sabharwal has directed the engineering officials to conduct a dry run of the first pump of the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Scheme on August 31 and to carry out a dry run of the second pump on September 15.
She inspected the first lift irrigation works of Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift scheme under construction at Narlapur at the Krishna River catchment area under Kolhapur constituency in Nagarkurnool district, along with engineering officers and contractors. The officials were asked to set up the motors at Narlapur, Edula and Wattem lifts in instalments from September 15.
The first pump on September 15 and the second pump on September 25 would go ahead with the aim of lifting the water.
Regarding the three lifts, two motors were ordered to be prepared at each lift. At the first lift in Narlapur, she inspected the work being carried out on fixing the pumping main, switchboard and motors.
She suggested that the technical aspects be taken care of quickly and set up for a dry run without any problem. Smita Sabharwal inspected the electrical substation and switch yard under construction at the project. Earlier, the officials of the first lift conducted a review with the engineers at the guest house at Narlapur.
She was accompanied by State Government Adviser on Irrigation Lift Scheme Penta Reddy, Engineer in Chief Muralidhar Rao, Nagar Kurnool Revenue Additional Collector Sitarama Rao, Palamuru Rangareddy Nagar Kurnool Chief Engineer Hamid Khan, Mahabubnagar Chief Engineer Ramana Reddy, SCs Satyanarayana Reddy, Srinivas, Chakradharan, EEs Srinivas Reddy, Sanjeeva Rao, DEs Amar Singh, Loki Lal and others participated.
