District Collector C Narayana Reddy on Tuesday directed the officials to make all arrangements for hassle-free immersion of Ganesh idols.
On Tuesday, he visited the Vallabharau tank located beside the national highway near the Nalgonda district headquarters. Like every year, this year too, the idols of Vinayaka will be immersed in Vallabharao tank.
He instructed the officials to make all the necessary arrangements for the Ganesh immersion on  September 16. The Collector directed the Roads and Buildings Superintending Engineer to erect barricading and deploy cranes at the places where immersion of idols takes place across the district including Vallabharao Tank, 14th Milestone, under Nagarjunasagar Bridge and other places.
Nalgonda Municipal Chairman Burri Srinivas Reddy has appealed to the District Collector to take steps for traffic diversions and sanitation during the immersion of idols less than 9 feet above the Vallabharau tank, which will be held between 3 pm and 10 pm on September 16.
District Superintendent of Police Sarat Chandra Pawar was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said that the irrigation officials should take steps to ensure  water required for the immersion of idols in Vallabharao tank.
Local bodies Additional Collector Purnachandra, Additional SP Ramulu Naik, R&B SE Satyanarayana Reddy, Irrigation EE Srinivas Reddy, DSP Sivaram Reddy, District Fire, Fisheries, Transco and other officials are there.
