Officials told to reach Haritha Haram target by Monday

District Collector G Ravi Nayak on Friday directed the officials to speed up the plantation and reach 90 per cent of Haritha Haram target by Monday.

Holding a review meeting on the progress of the Haritha Haram programme, the Collector asked the officials to focus on the plantations which are made to increase the forest cover.

Additional Collector and District Revenue Officer Yadaiah explained to the Collector that Mahabubnagar district was given a target to plant 40 lakh saplings. So far, the officials were able to complete the plantation of 35 lakh saplings.

Ravi Nayak directed the Revenue officials to identify beneficiaries under the Gruhalakshmi scheme in advance to provide financial help to women belonging to weaker sections. He also asked the officials to identify beneficiaries under the Dalit Bandhu scheme. He also reviewed the progress of the sheep distribution scheme.

The Collector specifically directed the Revenue officials to focus on custom milled rice. He stressed the need to ensure that the rice millers deliver custom milled rice. He asked the officials of Agriculture to pay attention to the availability of fertiliser and seeds in the district.

Additional Collector S Mohan Rao and officials were present.
