“This movement aims to ensure that ‘One Family – One Entrepreneur’ becomes a reality at the district-level, and a workshop was organised to unite women successful in running industrial units with those from rural and urban backgrounds who aspire to become entrepreneurs,” he said.
Dr Lakshmisha encouraged women entrepreneurs who are achieving millions in turnover with a modest investment of ?2 lakh as models for success. He pointed out that the service sector is expected to constitute around 68 per cent of the Gross District Product (GDP) for NTR district during 2024-25, and efforts are underway to harness industrial opportunities in the sector.
The Collector stated that the district administration has allocated ?855 crore for livelihood loans to women in self-help groups this year, ensuring they have the resources to advance as entrepreneurs in collaboration with industrial organisations. He further said that approximately 4.5 lakh women in self-help groups in the district will be educated about this initiative, aiming to make every woman an entrepreneur.
Dr Lakshmisha noted that the per capita income of NTR district stands at ?2.52 lakh in 2024-25, with a target set for ?55 lakh by 2047. He stressed the need to work towards the ‘One Family – One Entrepreneur’ model to achieve this goal.
