In a shocking incident, a sand-lorry ran amok on Monday in the town and rammed into two stationary four-wheelers and eight two-wheelers. At least one person was grievously injured.
He was identified as Velisetty Ranjit. He was sandwiched between two vehicles in the incident. He was working as an artisan with the TS Geno. The accident happened as he came out of a cloth shop along with his family members.
His condition is stated to be critical. He was admitted to Government Hospital in Warangal.
Police rushed to the spot and took immediate relief measures. A major disaster was averted the sand-laden lorry did not crash into a transformer.
The pedestrians ran helter-skelter as the lorry ran amok. Crowds at the scene of the accident proved an obstacle to the rescue operation.
