The results of the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance (TS EAMCET) were released on Thursday. Of the 1,95,275 students who appeared for the exam 1,56,879 qualified. Of this, 80.33 per cent of students appeared in the engineering stream.
In the Agriculture and Medical stream (AM) 91,935 students out of the 1,06,514 students who appeared for the examination qualified.
The Minister for Education, Sabitha Indra Reddy, said that 85 per cent of the seats are for Telangana students and the rest for students from other states.
However, students from Andhra Pradesh had the upper hand in scoring top ranks in the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Streams.
The toppers in the AM stream are B. Satya Raja Jaswanth-1 from East Godavari, followed by N. Venkat Teja from Chirala-2, D. Karthikeya Reddy of Tenali-4, B. Varun Chakravarthi-5, V. Harshil Sai from Nellore-7, D. Sai Chidvilas Reddy from Guntur-8, G. Giri Varshitha of Ananthapur-9.
In the engineering stream toppers are (rank 1) S. Anirudh of Vishakapatanam, (rank 2) Y. Venkata Maneendhar Reddy of Guntur, (rank 3) C. Umesh Varun of Nandigama, (rank 5) P. Pramod Kumar Reddy of Anantapur, (rank 6) M. Dheeraj Kumar of Visakhapatnam, (rank 8) B. Sanjana of Srikakulam, (rank 9) N. Prince Branham Reddy of Kurnool and (rank 10) M. Pranathi of Vizianagaram.
In the AM stream, Saphal Lakshmi from Saroornagar is ranked 3, DG Guru Sasidhar Reddy of Balanagar is ranked 6 along with K. Pritham Siddharth of Himayathnagar.
In the engineering stream rank 4 went to Abhineet Majety from Kondapur and rank 7 to V. Shanvitha from Madgulapalli Mandal.
Saphal Lakshmi, the rank 3 holder from Sri Chaitanya College, Nagole branch and a resident of Saroornagar in Hyderabad said, “I prepared from the study material teachers provided and I studied for 12 hours every day. I like Biology and I don’t have anything in mind right now but will focus on getting into a medical college for MBBS.”
On asking how students are coping up with the extra classes he said that the timings help preparation. We have to take breaks when we study. Although I socialize less my parents were always with me, he added.
The father of Abhineet Majety, a resident of Kondapur and rank 4 holder, who studied in FIITJEE said that his son had to attend exams in college and appeared for Eamcet to gain experience for JEE Advanced.
“He wants to join IIT Bombay and is interested in computer science and electronics. His performance has been up to the mark in the last four years. We left it to him and told him that we must try to do our best in this world and there will be ups and down in anyone’s career.
