Oppn alliance seeks public opinion for ‘Praja Manifesto’

Must read

Leaders of the TDP, BJP, and JSP have unveiled a novel initiative, releasing a WhatsApp number (8341130393) to solicit suggestions from the public for their joint manifesto, dubbed ‘Praja Manifesto’, for the upcoming 2024 elections. This move marks a departure from conventional manifesto releases and aims to incorporate grassroots input into their electoral agenda.
The initiative comes on the heels of the TDP’s unveiling of a ‘mini-manifesto’ during the recent celebrations commemorating the centenary of its founder, Dr NTR, which outlined six key promises. Following JanaSena chief Pawan Kalyan’s endorsement in September 2023, amid the fallout from Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest in the Skill Scam case, the alliance expanded its manifesto to incorporate both TDP’s ‘Super Six’ and JSP’s five promises. With the inclusion of the BJP into the alliance, the three parties have opted for a collaborative approach, seeking direct input from the electorate.
Notably, the ruling YSRCP is yet to unveil its manifesto for the 2024 elections, leaving voters across the state awaiting their electoral agenda. However, YSRCP president and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s track record of fulfilling promises has garnered significant support, with many acknowledging the welfare initiatives implemented during his tenure. Commenting on the ‘Praja Manifesto’, TDP leader Varla Ramaiah emphasised the alliance’s determination to oust the incumbent YSRCP government, asserting that the coalition’s primary objective is good governance. He urged the public to contribute their ideas through the designated WhatsApp number, ensuring their voices are heard and considered in shaping the manifesto.
Echoing Ramaiah’s sentiments, JSP leader G Venkateswara Rao underscored the alliance’s commitment to the state’s future and the welfare of its citizens. He encouraged active participation from the public, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the manifesto-building process.
Similarly, BJP leader L Dinakar reiterated the alliance’s focus on inclusive governance and development, stressing the importance of public feedback in crafting policies that benefit all segments of society.
He urged citizens to utilise the provided WhatsApp number to provide their invaluable input, reaffirming the alliance’s dedication to a prosperous Andhra Pradesh.
The ‘Praja Manifesto’ initiative reflects a concerted effort by the TDP, JSP, and BJP to engage voters directly, underscoring their commitment to democratic principles and inclusive governance. As the electoral landscape evolves, the success of this innovative approach may well shape the outcome of the upcoming elections.
