Wherever opponents are strong, potential BRS rebels are getting promotions quickly. Vemulawada MLA Chenamaneni Ramesh and MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy are the latest beneficiaries of this.
In erstwhile Ranga Reddy district constituencies, sources said that the Congress was picking up quickly and BRS cadres are divided and confused.
Patnam Mahender Reddy was quickly elevated as a Minister and is likely to be continued in the next term as well. It may be mentioned here that Patnam Mahender Reddy and Pilot Rohit Reddy have been at loggerheads and the former also reportedly met Congress leaders in Bengaluru.
The Congress is still sure that it can make a good impact in erstwhile Ranga Reddy district. Patnam Mahender Reddy was given the Mines and Information and Public Relations portfolio.
Vemulawada MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh was given the post of Advisor for a term of five years. Sources said that Chalmeda was not the first choice as the Chennamaneni family has a good grip on Vemulawada and with the rise of Sanjay the BJP still continues to be the main opposition.
In fact, BJP cadres even requested Sanjay to contest from Vemulawada. In the Sircilla cess elections too, the BRS found the going tough in Vemulawada.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that internal bickering in the party will be addressed as there are senior leaders like K. Keshav Rao who can handle it. He said that if needed a three-man committee will be constituted to sort out the issue.
However, the CM said that the list he published is not the final one and that while issuing B-Forms it may change.
Sources indicate that the CM may change around 20 candidates if surveys don’t report favourably about them
