Do the leaders of opposition parties, who met in Bengaluru a few days ago, have credibility? What is the difference between the crop of opposition leaders who had come together in 2019 and the present lot of opposition leaders? Why are opposition leaders, including those entangled in money laundering, fodder scam, illegal liquor trade, 2G scam, coal scam and mining scam, going to join hands? One must know answers to these questions. It is easy to understand why opposition leaders have stalled Parliament sessions for the past four days. Most of these leaders are accustomed to family rules and corruption. They went to jail in many cases. To save their skin and to protect their money, they have no alternative but to come together.
The 2024 Lok Sabha elections will determine their future. For the past nine years they have fought against the Modi government and got tired. Hence, they want to fight a final battle. It has become customary for them to stall the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on one issue or the other. They have stalled Parliament on issues like demonetisation, agriculture laws, Hindenberg report, Pegasus and so on. Since Modi has popular support, they could not do anything to him. In 2019, Modi helped BJP secure the highest number of seats in the Lok Sabha.
The opposition group has no leader. The parties have no answer to the crucial question about a potential leader capable of clashing with Modi in the next elections. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge declared that PM post is not crucial for the Congress. Congress leaders know very well that no opposition leader would accept Rahul Gandhi as the potential PM candidate. The moment Rahul’s name is announced, the opposition leaders will scatter in different directions. Rahul insults India on foreign soil. He is so ill-cultured as to call the Prime Minister a thief. So, the Court felt it proper to award two-year jail term to Rahul Gandhi. He moved the Supreme Court claiming that he was innocent and awarding punishment to him would mean depriving him his right to speech.
To get attention, the opposition parties have named their alliance as INDIA. Can the name INDIA change the true colours of corrupt leaders? Under the name INDIA, the opposition leaders are readying themselves to loot the country once again.
It is true that two groups have been clashing in Manipur over the past several weeks. The Centre is not denying it. The government made several attempts to curtail the violence. Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the state. He appointed a committee with senior persons and tried to pacify both sides. The opposition parties are adding fuel to the fire in Manipur.
An all-party meeting was held in Manipur. Not a single opposition leader suggested a proper solution to the Government. However, during the Congress regime not just Manipur, but the whole of North-East had erupted in violence. Assam, Nagaland, and Mizoram used to be a cauldron. Under the UPA regime, bandhs used to be observed in Manipur for months together. In 2011, Manipur burned for 123 days. Neither then PM Manmohan Singh nor UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi spoke on the issue. During the past nine years, there has been calm in the North-East. Developmental projects have been implemented in the states on a large scale.
To create pandemonium in Parliament session, a video was released on an atrocity perpetrated on Manipur women. PM Modi condemned the incident on the first day of the session. Atrocities were perpetrated on women during the Emergency period. In Bengaluru, Snehalata Reddy was tortured to death. In 1984, Sikhs were lynched and atrocities perpetrated on Sikh women. Atrocities were perpetrated on several women during the Congress regime, including the one on Nirmala in Delhi.
In a gruesome incident, 42 men outraged the modesty of a 16-year-old girl in Suryanelli, Kerala for 41 days. One of the young men who committed the offence was Congress leader PJ Kurien, as identified by the victim. Did the Marxists demand action against Kurien?
The Congress-ruled Rajasthan tops the list of states in which atrocities are perpetrated on women. When a Congress minister Rajendra Singh Gudha expressed on the floor of Rajasthan Assembly the government’s inability to provide security to women in the state, he was dismissed from his post and attacked physically in Assembly.
Atrocities are perpetrated on women in West Bengal due to political clashes. Two days ago, two Adivasi women caught red-handed while committing theft were paraded naked in Malda District.
Will people forgive these parties that politicise even atrocities on women?
