Ambedkar statue was built with public funds why is Revanth disrespecting it
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, on Wednesday strongly criticized the Congress party for dishonoring Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. Speaking on the occasion of Vajpayee Jayanti, he stated that Congress has repeatedly insulted Ambedkar while glorifying its own leaders. “If there were an Oscar for spreading lies, Congress would undoubtedly win it,” he remarked, accusing the party of surpassing Goebbels in its propaganda.
Bandi Sanjay has asserted that the BJP’s consistent rise to power, three times in a row, is a testament to the support it receives from Dalits. In contrast, he stated, the Congress has lost the trust of Dalits, as evidenced by its inability to secure even 100 seats. He questioned Rahul Gandhi’s knowledge of Ambedkar’s legacy, asking whether he is aware of the locations of Ambedkar’s “Pancha Teerthas.” “If Rahul Gandhi truly respects Ambedkar, he should first visit these historic sites,” Sanjay remarked. He also raised doubts about Revanth Reddy’s admiration for Ambedkar, questioning why he has not paid respects to the Ambedkar statue at NTR Ghat. “It does not matter who installed the statue; it is a monument funded by the people to honor a great leader and deserves recognition and homage,” he added.
He questioned why Congress failed to confer the Bharat Ratna on Ambedkar, despite awarding it to 21 other individuals, including Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Kamaraj, between 1954 and 1988. He also highlighted Congress’s opposition to placing Ambedkar’s portrait in Parliament, terming it a blatant insult to his legacy.
Bandi Sanjay, accompanied by BJP State President and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, BJP OBC Morcha National President Dr. K. Lakshman, State General Secretary Kasam Venkateswarlu, SC Morcha National Secretary S. Kumar, and other leaders, paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee by garlanding his portrait at the BJP State Office in Nampally. A blood donation camp organized by BJYM was also inaugurated during the event.
Speaking on Vajpayee’s legacy, Bandi Sanjay hailed the former Prime Minister as a leader who upheld India’s glory and moral values on the global stage. He praised Vajpayee’s notable contributions, including the Pokhran nuclear tests, the Golden Quadrilateral project, and the Rural Roads Scheme. “Even when he could have retained power by compromising on principles, Vajpayee chose integrity, losing his position but winning the respect of the nation,” Sanjay said.
The Minister emphasized that Vajpayee followed Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals, a path now championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Modi is tirelessly working towards Ambedkar’s vision by implementing welfare and development schemes,” he noted.
Taking a jibe at Telangana’s leadership, Sanjay accused leaders like KCR in the past and Revanth Reddy in the present of deceiving the people with empty promises. “They show 70mm films and graphics but fail to deliver real progress,” he criticized.
Bandi Sanjay concluded by reiterating BJP’s commitment to Ambedkar’s vision and its focus on national development and welfare. He underscored the party’s dedication to honoring both Ambedkar’s and Vajpayee’s legacies, ensuring their ideals inspire the nation for generations.
