Singer Rahul Sipligunj rose to global fame with the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu from RRR. Hailing from Old City, Hyderabad, his achievement brought global recognition to Telangana.
Before the elections, then-Congress President Revanth Reddy had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakhs for Rahul’s talent, promising to increase it to Rs 1 crore if he came to power.
During the recent Gaddar Film Awards, Revanth Reddy highlighted Rahul’s contributions and asked Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to support the singer’s achievements.

On Sunday, during the Bonalu celebrations, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy fulfilled his promise and announced that the Telangana government would award Rs 1 crore to Rahul Sipligunj for his contribution.
The CM said the singer would inspire many youngsters and praised him for his journey from Old City to the Oscars, putting Telangana on the global map.
