Osmania University (OU) professors and students have decried the erstwhile K Chandrashekar Rao regime for weighing down Telangana State with debts, instead of showing development.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) spokesperson and OU research student Changani Dayakar organized a discussion on KCR’s debts on the premises of OU Arts College on Saturday.
Some of the students and professors who participated said that the TRS government had only piled up debts and made unnecessary expenses for ‘commissions’. In the name of projects and power contracts, crores of rupees had been ‘looted’ and the economy of the state destroyed. KCR had weakened universities by not allocating funds and refraining from filling vacancies.
Changani Dayakar expressed his hope that the Congress government would work to develop universities and increase educational research.
OU Social Sciences Dean Koothadi Arjun Rao, OU Telugu Department Head of Department C. Qasim, OU Civil Services Academy Director Dr. Konda. Nageswara Rao, Nageswara Rao, AISF OU leaders Nelli Satya, Uday, and NSUI OU president Meda Srinivas, student leaders Bommera Sammaiah, Suman and others participated in the discussion.
