The Minister recalled that in the past we have seen CMs who threatened the fishermen ‘Tolu thista – finish chesta’. Jagan Mohan Reddy is supporting the fishermen and giving top priority to addressing their issues and fulfilling every promise. The YSRC government has been providing all the schemes like Matsyakara Bharosa, diesel subsidy, ex gratia to fishermen, and many more.
Minister Appalraju said that Harbors were sanctioned so that no fisherman should migrate to other places for fishing. Construction of harbours has already started at Juvvaladinne in Nellore district, Nizampatnam in Bapatla district, Uppada, and Machilipatnam. As part of it, the construction of Biyyaputhippa harbour began on Monday. The CM has said that the Centre has made it clear that they cannot give grants for the construction of this harbor, said the minister.
He said, “We are witnessing fluctuations in the aquaculture sector, and the same situation prevails in all the states. The CM has a firm determination to uplift the aqua farmers.” The minister said that the YSRC government had fixed a certain price so that the farmer shall not incur losses. Aqua University will bring a change in the lives of fishermen in this district. In the coming days, this State is going to become an aqua hub of the world.
