Minister for Agriculture S Niranjan Reddy has welcomed over 2,000 construction workers into the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party. The Minister held Atmeetya Sammlean at his camp office on Sunday.

A large number of villagers from Kanchiravupalli joined the BRS. Apart from them, AISF activists too joined the BRS.

Prominent among those who joined the BRs were former Congress party Scheduled Castes cell district convenor, Kommu Chennaiah, MSF district convener G Rajesh and co-convener D Srinath and AISF leader D Rambabu. Over 300 political activists of other parties from all mandals joined the BRS.

After inducting them into the party, Niranjan Reddy appealed to the people to realise the transformation that took place in Telangana in the past nine years.

The BRS government established many educational institutions in Wanaparthy. With the formation of the Wanaparthy district, at least 54 government department officials became accessible to the people.

The government extended an input subsidy of Rs 72,000 crore to 65 lakh farmers. It also implemented programmes to develop roads, supply power, Kalyana Lakshmi, Asara pensions, widow pensions, and pensions for the physically challenged. It established sub-stations on a large scale and extended support to farmers through Rytu Bandhu and Rytu Beema schemes, he said.

Earlier, there were instances of farmers abandoning agriculture. They used to get supplies of PDS rice once in three months. There were no instances of farmers owning 10-20 acres of land leading a dignified life before statehood to Telangana, he said.

In sharp contrast, nowadays a farmer who owned as little as one acre used to cultivate it and during their spare time he used to work as a daily wage worker and lead a comfortable life in his village.
