Over 6,000 people shifted to relief camps in Bapatla district

Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi has said that over 6,000 rain victims have been shifted to relief centres in the district.
As many as 10 villages have been marooned in the floodwater and road connectivity has been cut off to 20 island villages in Bapatla district.
The SP visited Penumudi, Donepudi and other affected villages on Monday.  He directed the NDRF, SDRF and police machinery to shift the people of low-lying areas to the relief centres.  
The SP said that the vulnerable areas are being monitored using drones. The NDRD, SDRF and police personnel are extending services in the flood affected villages including Chilumuru Lanka, Eepuru Lanka, Chintala Lanka, Pesaralanka, Avulu Vari Palem, Gajula Lanka, Tokalavaripalem, Thurakapalem, Tippalakatta, Kishkinda Palem, Tadikalapudi, Juvvalapalem, Srirangapuram in Kolluru mandal in the district. The victims of Chinthamotu, Pedalanka, Pesarlanka, Oleru and Pallipalem villages in Kothagudem and Battiprolu mandals are being shifted to the relief camps.
Talking to the media, the SP said that the road connectivity to 20 villages was completely cut off as flood water overflowed on the road. Two police officers are monitoring the rescue and relief operations in each village.  Additional SP TP Vitaleswar is monitoring the relief operations of island villages, the SP stated. Arrangements were made to distribute food, water and other needed commodities to the flood victims, the SP added.
