All India Majlis E Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday urged the Telangana government to take up Old City Metro rail development.
Addressing a gathering at the AIMIM’s 66th foundation day, the Hyderabad MP said, “Members from the BJP abuse AIMIM and say that there is no development in the Old City of Hyderabad, whereas their definition of development includes establishing pubs and casinos here.”
He further said, “The AIMIM is taking steps to develop the Old City. I have spoken to the Telangana Chief Minister regarding the Old City Metro. I have requested him to commence the formalities and lay the foundation stone for a Metro line from Mahatma Gandhi bus station to Falaknuma. I am told that the Chief Minister will visit Falaknuma to lay the foundation stone on March 7. I welcome him.”
