Combined AP’s former chief minister and TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday made sensational comments that Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was born to destroy the state of Andhra Pradesh and that it was high time the AP CM was sent packing.
Chandrababu said that the AP Chief Minister had destroyed the capital Amaravati and asserted that ‘psycho Jagan’ had caused more damage to AP than what had resulted from the bifurcation of AP. He criticized Jagan for the ‘gun culture’ in Pulivendula and blamed Jagan for the drugs menace. He said that the revolt against Jagan’s government had started in AP and TDP would come to power for the reconstruction of AP. Chandrababu maintained that 30 years of development had been negated under Jagan’s rule.
Chandrababu said that the Ambani brothers were an example that no two brothers and sisters are equal. “Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who came after me continued the development, and the four CMs who came after me, including K Chandrashekar Rao, worked for the development of Hyderabad”, he said. He said that he knew in his heart that he built the Shamshabad airport. Chandrababu said that he had worked for the Telugus and not for name and vote.
The TDP president congratulated the Center and Prime Minister Modi for releasing Rs 100 coin with NTR’s figure. Chandrababu said that respecting NTR amounted to respecting the country.
At the 41st inauguration ceremony of TDP held at the Exhibition ground in Hyderabad, Chandrababu said that development of Hyderabad was based on the vision made in 1995, and engineering colleges were established in Rangareddy district which did not have even high schools then. He said that Telugu youth were conquering the world with TDP and they want to compare the current Hyderabad with Hyderabad 25 years ago. Chandrababu said that TDP was the reason for economic self-reliance of women and they had given opportunity to women as conductors in RTC. Chandrababu said that the policy of TDP was to take the lead in the development of the divided states and TDP was the party that had fought for equality during the bifurcation.
Chandrababu said that the State of Telangana had a historical need for Telugu Desam. “We are working for the revival of TDP in Telangana”. NTR centenary celebrations would be held in all the villages of Telangana. Chandrababu described March 29 as the day NTR rewrote the politics of the state. NTR’s centenary celebrations would be held grandly.
Chandrababu said that Mahanadu would be held in Rajahmundry. NTR was the leader who introduced food security to the country, decentralization of power sector, and abolition of Patel Patwari system that benefited the poor. He said that NTR brought people who had studied higher education into politics and NTR brought women’s universities for girls.
Chandrababu reminded that he worked with NTR and Vajpayee and recalled that Vajpayee used to respect him a lot. Chandrababu rued that now he was working “with the worst leaders and doing the worst”. Chandrababu called upon Telangana TDP leaders to increase their speed and raise the yellow flag in Telangana.
Chandrababu said that the Telangana Telugu Desam Party was working well. The speed should be increased and the TDP should be restructured in Telangana. Chandrababu recalled that NTR did not come into politics to seek power, but to pay off the ‘debt of the Telugu people’. He said:” TDP will exist as long as there is history”. Chandrababu recounted the reforms that NTR had brought during his regime and said humanity was NTR’s ideology.
Chandrababu said they gave rice for Rs. 2 kg for food security. Telugu Desam was the party that started the welfare measure. He said that 20 per cent reservation was brought in the local institutions, after he came to power. He had increased the reservation to 34 per cent. He said that reforms had been brought in many sectors, including electricity, ports, and roads, while Dwcra associations had been brought in to help women. He said that women were working brilliantly as RTC conductors.
handrababu said that the Krishna-Godavari linking project had been taken up and if the rivers were linked, water could be provided to every acre in the Telugu states.
