In a significant move following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has directed all Pakistani nationals residing in India to leave the country by April 27, 2025. However, Pakistani nationals on medical visas have been granted an extended deadline until April 29, 2025. This directive, issued under Section 3(1) of the Foreigners Act, 1946, comes after the brutal killing of tourists by Pakistan-backed terrorists in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

According to an official summary, 21 Pakistani nationals are currently residing across 12 districts in Andhra Pradesh. Annamayya district has the highest number, with five persons. Visakhapatnam (City), Kakinada, NTR (Vijayawada), Ananthapuram, and Sri Sathya Sai districts each host two, while East Godavari (Rajamahendravaram), Krishna, Nellore, Kurnool, Nandyala, and YSR Kadapa districts each have one.

Additionally, the Government of India has suspended all visa services for Pakistani nationals, with exceptions for holders of long-term, diplomatic, and official visas.

In Andhra Pradesh, DGP Harish Kumar Gupta has instructed law enforcement agencies to identify and monitor Pakistani nationals, ensuring their compliance with the directive. He warned that those who overstay will face legal action under Indian law.
