Patrudu lays stone forRs 2.05-cr road worksPlans announced for irrigation, tourism, and tribal welfare in Nathavaram mandal

State Legislative Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu has laid the foundation stone for a road construction project in Sarugudu Sundarakota panchayat, Natavaram mandal, marking his first visit to the village. The Rs 2.05-crore project aims to improve infrastructure in the region, fulfilling an election promise made by Patrudu.
Addressing the gathering, Speaker Patrudu expressed satisfaction in delivering on promises made during the elections. “Enhancing infrastructure is key to progress, and we remain dedicated to continuous development under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan,” he stated. He also highlighted efforts to address drinking water shortages in villages through solar-powered solutions and shared that Rs 26.80 crore has been invested in the mandal over the past six months for various developmental projects.
Patrudu outlined several new projects during the event. Among them is the repair of the Tandava reservoir gates and canals, with Rs 1.80 crore allocated for the project over the next five years. This initiative aims to provide irrigation water to 53,000 acres. He also discussed strategies to divert Polavaram water to the Tandava reservoir.
In the education sector, Rs 38 lakh has been earmarked to renovate three hostels in Nathavaram mandal. Besides, Patrudu unveiled plans to develop Sarugudu Waterfall as a tourist destination to boost local employment opportunities.
Addressing the tribal community’s concerns, Patrudu assured that eligible families would receive land titles within a month. “We are committed to addressing the concerns of all sections of society, including our tribal brothers and sisters,” he added.  RDO VV Ramana, Natavaram MRO Venugopal, Tandava Project Chairman Karaka Satyanarayana, TDP president Nandipalli Ramana, and local leaders were present.
