Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Forests, Environment, Science, and Technology, K Pawan Kalyan, has said that the country could achieve significant progress if the outcomes of space research are effectively utilised. He highlighted the importance of cultivating awareness about space science from an early age among students and reiterated the government’s commitment to providing the necessary support to students aspiring to become scientists.
Russian cosmonaut Sergey Korsakov and representatives from Space Kidz India met with Pawan Kalyan on Sunday at the Deputy Chief Minister’s residence in Hyderabad. During the meeting, they discussed the research conducted and the satellites developed by their team. The visitors also demonstrated the functioning of a recently developed miniature satellite deployer.
Dr. Keshan, Founder and CEO of Space Kidz India, proposed the establishment of a space park in the State to spark students’ interest in space science. He noted that such parks currently exist only at NASA and are absent in India. Dr. Keshan suggested that creating a space park in Andhra Pradesh could significantly enhance students’ awareness and involvement in the space sector. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan responded positively to the suggestion.
On this occasion, Pawan Kalyan honoured astronaut Sergey Korsakov by presenting him with a prototype of the Chandrayaan-3 rocket. Sergey, who spent six months in space, briefed the Deputy Chief Minister on the research conducted during his mission and the strategies employed to endure such an extended period in space. He was also invited to sample Russian dishes specially prepared for him. The meeting was attended by representatives of Space Kidz India, including Yajnaseni, S.B. Arjun, Sai Tanya, and others.
