Must read

Ananya Nagalla, a talented Telugu actress, has been steadily making a name for herself in the industry. She made her debut with the critically acclaimed film Mallesham and subsequently showcased her acting chops in films like Vakeel Saab and Pottel. Her upcoming film, Srikakulam Sherlock Holmes, where she plays the female lead, is slated to release on December 25.
“When director Mohan narrated the story, I felt it was something new and unique. The way he weaves the narrative, where an incident is seen from each person’s perspective, really intrigued me,” said Ananya Nagalla. She confidently stated that the audience will definitely appreciate this film, citing its unconventional storyline.
Ananya plays the role of Bhramaramba in the film. “My character in this film is very distinct from the roles I’ve played in my previous films,” she noted. She further emphasised that the story is extraordinary, revealing that it is inspired by real-life events.
“The story revolves around a small incident that occurs simultaneously with the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. While everyone’s attention is focused on the larger event, someone pursues this smaller case, uncovering shocking truths along the way. That’s essentially the story,” Ananya explained. She also mentioned that the film features a cute love story. Ravi Teja Dasyam stars alongside Ananya in the film. “I appreciated his dedication to giving his best performance in every scene,” she said of her co-star.
Ananya had the opportunity to work with Pawan Kalyan in Vakeel Saab. “During the court scene, he complimented my performance, saying he could see real pain and emotion in my acting. I was thrilled to receive his praise,” she recalled. The actress expressed her willingness to take on female-centric films. “I’m currently working on a Telugu film and another Hindi project, both of which feature strong female leads,” she revealed.
Ananya is pleased with her career trajectory and the opportunities that have come her way. “After Pottel, I received numerous compliments and started getting more scripts. I’ve even signed two new films,” she shared.
Regarding her upcoming projects, Ananya mentioned that Kathakali and Lechindi Mahila Lokam are ready to hit the screens soon.
