In a scathing attack, YSRCP MLC Varudu Kalyani launched a tirade against Opposition leaders, asserting that the tireless foot soldiers of Chief Minister Jagan, the volunteers, are the true vanguards of his transformative welfare policies. Kalyan lashed out at what she termed orchestrated misinformation campaigns by the Opposition.

Addressing the press on Sunday, Kalyani levelled stern criticism at Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, asserting that he lacks a coherent political vision and distinct party identity. She pointedly questioned the motivations behind Pawan Kalyan’s statewide tours, insinuating his allegiance to the directives of Chandrababu Naidu. Kalyani further alleged that Pawan Kalyan merely parrots narratives propagated by what she derisively referred to as “yellow media,” unfairly criticising the remarkable strides achieved under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

In a bold condemnation, MLC Kalyani branded Pawan Kalyan a “Flower star,” insinuating superficiality, and likened his political party to a “Chandrasena” faction. Citing a recent meeting, Kalyani contended that Pawan Kalyan’s aversion to the people of Vizag had become palpably evident.

Kalyani contended that Pawan Kalyan’s misguided attempts at empathy backfired when he visited a family in Pendurthi, as he aimed to console them without a comprehensive grasp of the facts. Such actions, she maintained, not only misled the public but also disrespected the dedicated women volunteers who constitute 70 percent of the workforce behind the welfare initiatives.

With a tone of admonition, MLC Kalyani argued that Pawan Kalyan, as a political party leader, should diligently acquaint himself with accurate information before embarking on such engagements, to avoid causing undue distress to already grieving families. She further spotlighted instances where Pawan Kalyan allegedly misrepresented facts, including comments made about JSP spokesperson M Sriramulu’s involvement in an incident. Kalyani also drew attention to an incident involving a JSP leader from Hindupur, cautioning Pawan Kalyan to visit the victim’s family and confront the repercussions of his party’s actions.

Kalyani said that the previous TDP government was a period marked by widespread anguish, with women subjected to heinous assaults and Dalits enduring severe hardships. Drawing comparisons, Kalyani underscored the shared disregard for women’s dignity, accusing both Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan of fostering an environment of disrespect.

Kalyani’s impassioned address further delved into the tragic loss of 22 young lives enrolled in Narayana colleges. She questioned the conspicuous absence of visits or expressions of condolence from either Chandrababu Naidu or Pawan Kalyan, particularly given Narayana’s role as a minister in the erstwhile TDP government. The MLC also refererred to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, shedding light on the prevalence of missing persons and underscoring a lack of awareness and understanding on Pawan Kalyan’s part.

As her remarks reverberated through the press conference, MLC Kalyani left little room for doubt regarding her stance on Pawan Kalyan’s purported shortcomings and her assertions surrounding the legacy of Chandrababu Naidu’s governance. The acerbic discourse served as a testament to the fervent political climate within Andhra Pradesh.
