People can register for vote till April 15: DEO Ronald Rose

Hyderabad District Election Officer Ronald Rose said that those who are not registered as voters can register till April 15. Also, voters should check their name in the voter list or not for the confirmation.
A meeting was held with TLF, SLF leaders, senior citizens, representatives of disabled associations, representatives of third gender and women representatives of self-help groups in GHMC head office on Thursday in view of the parliamentary elections.
At that meeting, SVEEP nodal officer Ronald Rose explained about the facilities provided to senior citizens and disabled voters in the elections. Regarding them, steps should be taken to ensure that all the polling centres are on the ground floor, ramp facility and minimum infrastructure should be provided, they should be given a separate queue line and they should be taken directly to cast their vote without any difficulty, and sufficient number of wheelchairs should be made available at each location.
DEO said that PWD voters above 85 years of age can vote from home if they apply under Form-12D. He spoke on the issues of conducting election duties, polling, handing over postal ballots to other staff, postal ballot process, regulations, establishment of voter facilitation centres, etc.
District Election Officer Ronald Rose said that a total of Rs 23,92,610 and Rs 14,66,994 worth of materials were seized during the inspection by enforcement teams on Thursday. Ronald Rose said that five FIRs have been filed on Thursday. So far 129 FIRs have been registered and 110 people have been arrested. Since the MCC came into force, Rs 2,80,9800 has been seized. Besides, other material items worth Rs 51,72,283 were seized.
