He highlighted the government’s progress since the previous meeting six months ago, stating that while the State faced significant challenges, efforts to stabilise the administration and economy have shown promising results.
Chandrababu pointed out the severe debt burden of over `10 lakh crore inherited from the previous government and their misuse of funds earmarked for the next two years. Despite this, the State is now on a path of recovery, with a focus on welfare and development initiatives.
Addressing key concerns, Chandrababu stressed eradicating illegal activities, including land grabbing, liquor smuggling, sand mining, and red sanders smuggling. He tasked the district collectors with combating these issues and safeguarding the State’s reputation. He also outlined priorities such as poverty eradication, job creation, water conservation, and enhancing farmers’ income.
The Chief Minister announced a significant milestone – the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google to establish a unit in Visakhapatnam. He credited the achievement to the recent visit of Minister Nara Lokesh to the United States. Chandrababu expressed confidence that this development, along with advancements in artificial intelligence and data centres, will transform Visakhapatnam into a global hub and a game-changer for the State.
The CM pointed out the key achievements and plans for creation of over `4 lakh crore in investments have been secured, expected to create four lakh jobs. For the development of Amaravati, `31,000 crore has been mobilised with Polavaram expected to be completed by 2027.
Pensions are being distributed to 64 lakh beneficiaries, and 40 lakh gas connections have been provided under the Deepam-2 scheme. In all, 199 Anna canteens have been established to serve affordable meals to the poor and a parent-teacher meeting involving 1.2 crore participants across 43,000 schools was a resounding success. Additionally, a Mega DSC will soon recruit 16,000 teachers.
Chandrababu highlighted rapid progress in grain procurement, plans to repair all roads by Sankranti, and the abolition of the Land Titling Act. To address land-related grievances, the Land Grabbing Prohibition Act has been implemented, with revenue Sadassus being organised for effective resolution.
The Chief Minister further announced the unveiling of the Swarnandhra Vision-2047 on December 13, urging officials to work towards achieving a 15 per cent growth rate.
