People lack understanding of judiciary: AP HC CJ Thakur

Andhra Pradesh High Court CJ Dhiraj Singh Thakur hoisted the tricolour flag on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day on the High Court premises on Tuesday. The CJ was the chief guest of the programme.

On this occasion, Justice Thakur said that this is the day when we all should remember the sacrifices of every freedom fighter who sacrificed his life in the freedom struggle. He said that many freedom fighters fought tirelessly to free the country from colonial rule and their sacrifices should be recognized by every citizen forever. He said that today is an auspicious day when we all should be proud of being Indians. Similarly, Chief Justice Thakur said, “We all should always be grateful for the services of our armed forces who are constantly contributing to the defense of our country.”

The CJ further said that even after 77 years of independence, people still do not have a full understanding of the judiciary. That is why legal awareness camps are being organised on a large scale across the country, he said and added that to provide speedy justice to the people, times various new technologies are being adopted in the judicial system along with artificial intelligence. He said that all the court records are being digitized. It is mentioned that verdicts are being issued in various cases with the help of artificial intelligence in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. He said that the new building in the High Court will be made available soon and the present space shortage issue will be solved and further said that measures are being taken to improve the judicial infrastructure not only in the High Court but across the state.

High Court Advocate General S Sriram, High Court Bar Association President Ghanta Rama Rao, State High Court Advocates Association President Janaki Ramireddy and others spoke on the occasion. Delhi High Court Judge Justice Suresh Kumar, several judges of the State High Court and their family members, Deputy Solicitor General HarNath, PP Nagireddy, several Registrars, Bar Association, Bar Councils members, and many other advocates participated in this programme.
