Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that social activist Rajalingamurthy was killed for questioning BRS’s corruption.
He condemned the murder of Rajalingamurthy and said that the BRS had encouraged murder politics during its 10-year rule. Rajalingamurthy had filed a case against KCR, BRS MLA T. Harish Rao and three others. Former Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Venkatramana Reddy is behind this murder, Venkat said.
Addressing the media at the Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday along with MLAs Beerla Ilaiah, G. Madhusudhan Reddy, Congress leaders Charan Kaushik, Sangishetty Jagdish, Srikanth Yadav, Minister Venkat Reddy said that Rajalingamurthy’s wife and daughter are saying that KCR and KTR are behind this murder due to the fear that KCR may get punished for engaging in corruption while executing the Kaleshwaram Project.
“KCR’s family looted Telangana. Won’t they kill if their irregularities get exposed? The government will protect Chakradhar Goud who is waging a legal battle against Harish Rao. We can earn money but cannot get back lost lives. People should approach the government if anyone faces a threat from BRS leaders. Rajalingamurthy fought against the looting of public funds through the Kaleshwaram Project. We will meet Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding the Rajalingamurthy murder case,” Venkat said.
He said that everybody knows who murdered the Vamana Rao couple. However, KCR gave the BRS ticket to the same person, Venkat said. He said that the then CP of Warangal, Ranganath, said that BRS leaders murdered the MPDO in Warangal.
Venkat said that BRS leader rowdy-sheeter Suresh tried to kill the collector in Kodangal. The BRS’s objective is to block development in Telangana. So KCR has been saying that the Congress graph has fallen, he said and asked KCR whether murder politics would raise the BRS graph. KCR can do nothing except carry out murders using hired hands, Venkat said.
“The government should take the Rajalingamurthy murder case seriously. KCR, KTR and Harish Rao have a hand in this murder. The government should arrest the culprits within 24 hours and order a CB CID probe. Set up a fast-track court and ensure immediate punishment for the murderers,” Venkat said.
He said that BRS leaders should fight adversaries legally and that it is not right to kill them.
