In view of the heavy rains in some districts of the State on Sunday, the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) has advised people to be alert at power lines.
On Sunday evening, power supply was disrupted in Mahbubnagar, Nagar Kurnool, Gadwal, Wanaparthy, Yadadri, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Nalgonda and Medchal districts due to heavy rain and heavy winds, which caused large trees and tree branches to fall on power lines and poles.
In view of trees falling on power poles, TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Musharraf Farooqui requested the general public to be alert at fallen power lines, poles and other electrical equipment. In case of any electrical emergency, information should be given to the electrical staff or the control room.
On the power disruption in districts, CMD Musharraf Farooqui held a teleconference with the Superintending Engineers of the affected districts.
In the meeting, he said that as the officers in all the field offices were alert, restoration measures were taken immediately and supply was restored in most of the 33 KV and 11 KV feeders.
The CMD has directed the officials to repair the LT lines in some areas. In view of the current weather conditions, every officer and staff should be alert, he added.
