People urged to make use of SNU in govt hospital

Dr KV Swarajyalakshmi, the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), conducted a surprise inspection of the SNCU (Special Newborn Care Unit) at the Achampet Regional Hospital in Achampet in the district. She inquired about the health of the children admitted to the SNCU. Pediatric specialists, including Dr Prashanth and Dr Swarajyalakshmi accompanied the DMHO.
She emphasised the importance of breastfeeding, warmth, kangaroo care, and other relevant aspects for the mothers. She appealed to the people of the constituency to admit newborns with low birth weight, preterm babies, and those suffering from conditions like jaundice to the SNCU.
Later, she monitored the vaccination programme at the Achampet Town Health Sub-center. She reviewed the list of children and pregnant women receiving vaccines.
The event was attended by Deputy DMHO Dr Tara Singh, Rayanayya, Division Malaria Officer Bikkulal, Supervisor Hanumanthu, ANMs, and ASHA workers.
