Tamilisai Soundararajan visited Bhadrachalam and interacted with tribal people to learn their problems first-hand
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday promised to bring to the notice of the Centre the problems being faced by the people in five villages which were merged with Andhra Pradesh. The five villages, which were in Telangana at the time of the formation of the new State of Telangana, were merged with Andhra Pradesh.
The Governor gave assurance while interacting with tribal people here.
Tamilisai Soundararajan came to the Bhadrachalam Temple. The temple Executive Officer Rama Devi extended a traditional welcome to her.
The temple priests performed special puja. The Vedic scholars blessed the Governor at the temple. The EO presented the temple prasadam to the dignitary.
Later, she attended a meeting with tribal people at the Veera Bhadra Function hall in the temple town. She interacted with the tribal people to find out their problems and assured them to resolve their problems. Security was beefed up in the temple town for the Governor’s visit.
During her visit, Governor addressed the tribal people in Telugu and told them that she prayed to the Lord Sitaramachandra Swamy for the well-being of one and all. She said that she understood the problems of the Adivasis and take them to the notice of the government for their resolution. She said that she was very sad to know the woes of the people living in five villages merged with Andhra and demanded that the Centre merge them with Telangana. She said that she would take this problem to the notice of the Centre and strive to resolve the problem.
She later participated in public programmes and the District Red Cross Conference.
