Philanthropist cycling for a cause visits city

Renowned philanthropist Joydeb Routh, who embarked on a cycling tour across India to promote the importance of blood donation, reached a significant milestone as he visited the Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) in Shivrampally, Hyderabad.

Having covered an astonishing distance of 15,000 kilometers since starting his journey from Kolkata on October 1, 2022, Routh aims to continue his tireless efforts and cycle an additional 10,000 kilometers in the coming months.

At the TSCS,Joydeb  Routh was warmly welcomed by board members, staff, patients and grateful parents, highlighting the immense impact of his mission. Dr Chandrakant Agarwal, President of the Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society, expressed admiration for Routh’s dedication and emphasised the importance of blood donation in improving the lives of individuals affected by Thalassemia and sickle cell anemia.

Joydeb Routh expressed gratitude and shared his motivation for visiting the Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society. He acknowledged the incredible work done by the society and drew inspiration from the resilience and strength of the patients and their parents. Routh emphasised the collective effort required to save lives and bring hope to those in need.

The Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society, an NGO in the fight against genetic blood disorders like Thalassemia, provides crucial support to individuals and families affected by these conditions.
