State Planning Board Vice Chairman and Central MLA Malladi Vishnu has said that Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule is the one who encouraged education among the masses in the country. On the occasion of Phule’s death anniversary, floral tributes were paid to the statue at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram. On this occasion, Phule’s services to the country were remembered.
Later, Malladi Vishnu said that Jyoti Rao Phule has devoted his whole life to the uplift of the downtrodden communities. Having experienced caste discrimination, Phule worked his entire life to eradicate caste discrimination. His writings and lectures depict his direct experiences. Vishnu stated that Phule’s activities for the uplift of Dalit and Bahujan communities were commendable. He was hailed as a genius who educated his wife Savitribai and became a teacher to provide education to women. That is why Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India, declared Phule as his guru.
Malladi Vishnu said that the YSRCP government is moving forward with the inspiration of Mahatma Phule’s thinking that education is the path to socio-economic development. He said that the welfare schemes implemented by CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the spirit of that great man are contributing a lot to the progress of SC, ST, BC, minority, and women communities. He clarified that the spirit of visionaries like Mahatma Phule is behind the state of Andhra Pradesh standing as a model for the country today.
