YSRCP Rajya Sabha member Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose on Tuesday backtracked and tendered an apology for speaking against minister Venugopal on contesting from Ramachandrauram constituency in the next elections.
YSRCP sources said that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy reprimanded Subhashchandra Bose for openly speaking against minister Ch Venugopala Krishna. Bose met the Chief Minister at his camp office in Tadepalli.
It is learnt that the Chief Minister pulled him up for speaking before the media on contesting from Ramachandrapuram constituency as an independent candidate against the minister.
Addressing a press conference in Ramachandrapuram, Bose said that he had spoken against the minister and dared to contest from Ramachandrapuram constituency keeping in view the sentiments of his followers. “Please forgive us. We spoke like that keeping in view the sentiments of our followers. There is no question of quitting the YSRCP and joining either the Jana Sena or the TDP,” he made it clear.
Since the responsibility of infusing confidence among the YSRCP activists lies on him, he announced to resign to the MP post, if needed to contest to the Assembly as an independent candidate, he stated.
“I have explained everything to Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He told me that after conducting a survey, the party will decide who should contest from the constituency. I will abide by the party’s decision,” Subhash Chandra Bose stated.
It may be mentioned here that the MP announced that he would contest as an independent candidate from Ramachandrapuram constituency, if Minister Venugopal Krishna was given a ticket to contest in the 2024 election or his son would contest from the same constituency which the YSRCP high command took seriously.
