Jana Sena chief K Pawan Kalyan has pledged to usher in improved welfare schemes surpassing the current offerings, dismissing speculations that the alliance might curtail existing programmes.
Speaking at an election rally in Ponnuru on Sunday, Pawan Kalyan reassured voters that if their alliance clinches victory, they will not only maintain but enhance all ongoing welfare initiatives. “These schemes are funded by the people’s taxes; there’s no question of abandoning them. Rest assured, if we come to power, all welfare programmes will continue unabated,” he affirmed.
Responding to allegations of being a non-local, Kalyan asserted his deep roots in the region, citing his upbringing across various locales due to his father’s government service. “I am a son of this soil, born in Bapatla, raised in Palnadu and Nellore,” he stated firmly.
Expressing dismay over the vandalisation of a helipad constructed for his campaign, Kalyan condemned the act as an act of sabotage orchestrated by YSRCP leaders. He vowed to launch an inquiry and take stern action against the perpetrators once their alliance assumes power.
Pawan Kalyan lambasted the YSRCP leadership for monopolising natural resources and alleged illegal exploitation.
Criticising Irrigation Minister Ambati Rambabu for his purported lack of concern for vital projects, Pawan Kalyan quipped, “Instead of understanding projects, he seems more adept at dancing to cinema songs.” He also accused Rambabu of neglecting the concerns of evacuees from the Polavaram project.
Highlighting internal rifts within the YSRCP, Pawan Kalyan pointed to instances such as Rambabu’s son-in-law urging voters not to support him, indicating simmering discontent within the party ranks.
Promising to prioritize sectors like education, healthcare, and irrigation, Kalyan pledged to ensure access to clean drinking water and uphold law and order if elected. “Every commitment made by our alliance will be executed meticulously and efficiently,” he reassured the electorate.
During the rally, Kalyan introduced the MLA candidate for Ponnur, Dhulipalla Narendra, and the Guntur Lok Sabha candidate, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, urging voters to support them wholeheartedly. Notably, Mudragada Padmanabham’s daughter, M Kranthi, along with her husband, paid a visit to Kalyan during the event.
