PK writes to PM for probe into ‘AP house site scam’

Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief K Pawan Kalyan has alleged a massive fraud and financial scandal in the distribution of house sites and appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for investigation.
Pawan Kalyan wrote a letter to the Prime Minister on Saturday. He said in his letter that massive fraud and financial scandals took place in the distribution of house sites and construction of houses for the poor in Andhra Pradesh. He requested the Prime Minister for an investigation by the Central agencies on the scandal.
“It is a gigantic scandal running into thousands of crores of rupees perpetrated by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy headed government in AP in the name of distribution of house sites and construction of houses for the poor since June 2019,” Pawan Kalyan said in the letter to the PM. Pawan Kalyan apprised the PM of a basic estimate upon calculating the figures given by the state government itself exposing the humongous financial misappropriations of Rs 35,141 crore only on purported ‘acquisition’ of land for the project.
“Of the total estimated (land and housing) project cost of Rs 1,75,421 crore, the State government claims to have spent a whopping Rs 91,503 crore till October 2023 which certainly looks dubious,” Pawan Kalyan explained to the PM in the letter.
He said that the state government issued full-page advertisements on October 12, 2023, while inaugurating five lakh houses that it spent a whopping Rs 56,102 crore on land acquisition.  “I request you to kindly institute an appropriate investigation by the Central agencies like CBI or Enforcement Directorate to unearth more details of the scam as thousands of crores of rupees of the government of India are also involved in the project.  I also request you to bring the guilty to book and initiate steps for recovery of the misappropriated public money,” Pawan Kalyan appealed to the Prime Minister in his letter.
