Sanjay says Cong needs BRS MLAs but BJP doesn’t need an alliance
The plan to merge the BRS into the Congress is ready, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar said.
He said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is floating rumours that the BRS would merge with the BJP only to know the public pulse. He said that as far as the BJP is concerned the BRS is submerged in the Ganga and the BJP has no use for the BRS. Speaking to the media on Sunday at Koti, Union Minister Sanjay said the BJP will not allow family-based parties to come near it. However, the situation that exists now is that the people would stone anyone who utters the name of BRS Working President KT Rama Rao.
Recalling that the BRS had earlier merged the CLP into itself, Sanjay said that now the Congress is merging the BRSLP into the CLP and that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has prepared a plan for it.
He said the BRS is an outdated party and that the Congress needs BRS MLAs but the BJP has no need to enter into any kind of understanding with the BRS.
He said the BJP has no ‘karma’ to enter into an alliance or merge the BRS with itself as the BRS is a corrupt party.
Sanjay pointed out that the public has no connection with the ‘alliance’ and ‘merger’ business and that the Chief Minister raised the ‘merger’ issue only to divert public attention from farmers who were burning the effigies of the Congress.
He said the ‘merger’ is a drama enacted by the Congress and the BRS and that the Congress failed to stick to its word in implementing the farm loan waiver scheme.
“Around 64 lakh farmers took loans, but the government waived the loans of only 22 lakh farmers. The government announced that it will waive farm loans amounting to Rs 40,000 crore, however, it allocated only Rs 26,000 crore in the budget and waived only Rs 17,000 crore,” Sanjay said.
The CM raised the curtains of the ‘merger’ drama after realising that the public has understood the Congress government’s deception, he added.
