Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that some forces were trying to create rifts among people by attacking places of worship and called for foiling their designs by cooperating with the police.
Stating that Telangana society is enlightened, he said that he was confident that it would not encourage provocative acts and would cooperate with the government.
Addressing the Police Flag Day Parade at the Police Martyrs Memorial in Hyderabad on Monday, the CM expressed concern over the recent act of vandalism at the Muthyalamma Temple in Secunderabad and subsequent incidents.
He said the police would act firmly against those engaging in such attacks and trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere. He urged people to cooperate with police in dealing with those whose actions are detrimental to society.
“If some people decide to punish the culprits themselves by taking the law into their hands there will be no difference between them and those resorting to the heinous acts,” he said.
Declaring that the police are dealing firmly with those engaging in crimes, the CM said no one should have any doubts about this. He emphasised the importance of peace and security for development and said no state can attract investments without proper law and order.

He said that criminals are adopting new methods and claimed that Telangana Police became a role model for the country by establishing units like the SIB and Greyhounds.
Voicing concern over the increase in cybercrimes, he said the police should observe closely the changes in society.
He also said that drug abuse has increased in the state in the last 10 years and ganja is being smuggled into Telangana from neighbouring states. The government took strong measures to curb drug trafficking by setting up the Anti-Narcotics Bureau, he said.
Referring to the traffic problem in Hyderabad, he called for using Artificial Intelligence for better traffic management.
Stating that the government is taking steps to boost the image of the police, the CM said the Young India Police School of international standards will be established on a campus of 50 acres.
