POCSO convict gets 20-yr RI, Rs 30,000 fine

A man was given 20 years rigorous imprisonment and Rs 30,000 fine for rape of a child. A compensation of Rs 10 lakh was awarded to the victim by the Fast Track Special POCSO Court trial at LB Nagar.
The case was registered in 2019 on accused Pandula Nagaraju under IPC Section 366, 376 (1), 417, 506 IPC and Sec 3 R/w 4 POCSO Act 2012 in Saroornagar police station. It revolved around the abducting, rape, cheating, criminal breach of trust and sexual assault against child.
In this case, the then Investigation Officer E Srinivas Reddy (presently ACP) , Head Constable J Chander Rao, constable P Ravi of Saroornagar police station, Addl Public Prosecutor P Sunitha, have attended on behalf of prosecution.
