To handle the huge crowd that accompanies the candidates when they file their nomination papers, the police have arranged iron mesh besides the barricades on the roads. They blocked all major roads leading to Returning Officers’ offices with barricades and iron mesh.
Both barricades and iron mesh were seen at the Gandhi Bomma Centre adjacent to the national highway at Gannavaram in Krishna district when TDP candidate Yarlagadda  arrived to file his papers on Wednesday. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Returning Officers can allow only five persons including the candidate to enter the office at the time of filing nominations. So, the police stopped party leaders, cadres and followers from entering the road leading to the RO office. The rally that accompanied TDP Gannavaram candidate Yarlagadda Venkata Rao started at Ramavarappadu Ring at 9 am, and reached the Gandhi Bomma Centre at 1 pm. Meanwhile, the police closed the road leading to the Tahsildar Office, resulting in severe inconvenience to the public for several hours.
